Masonic Home in Cleveleys
West Drive provides a convivial masonic home in which some 340 Freemasons in 12 Craft Lodges, 5 Royal Arch Chapters, and side degrees meet to practice their ancient traditions and charitable works.
Almost a Century of Masonic Excellence
In 1924, a dedicated Masonic Hall extension was built onto the original 1907 Park Club pavilion, confirmed by a historic foundation stone adjacent to the cellar at the rear of the building. The prime motivators for this visionary project were the members of Thornton and Cleveleys Lodge No. 3854 (founded in 1918), who had previously gathered at The Gardener’s Arms in Thornton and The North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood.
Their foresight created a premier centre for Craft Lodges, Royal Arch Chapters, and several side degrees. During our active 9-month masonic season, the lodge rooms and dining hall are occupied on approximately 500 occasions, including annual Installations and official visits from the Provincial Grand Master and Provincial team.
Charity is central to the masonic ethos. The dining room is made available at no hire charge to any masonic organisation holding special social functions for charitable fundraising, supported by quality meals prepared by our franchised caterer.
